World Cancer Day 2026 | Cancer Awareness Programme – Delhi

As part of World Cancer Day 2026, CanCare India Foundation organised a Cancer Awareness Programme at Quaid-e-Millath Centre (QMC), Daryaganj, Delhi, in collaboration with Relicus Psychological Services and QMC Delhi.

The programme was designed as a space for public engagement, dialogue, and learning, bringing together students, caregivers, professionals, and community members to reflect on cancer as a medical, psychological, and social concern.

The session was presented by Dr. Muhammad Sheedh, Oncologist at Batra Hospital, Delhi, and President, CanCare India Foundation. His address focused on cancer literacy, early recognition of symptoms, and the importance of informed, timely engagement with healthcare systems. He also highlighted the emotional and psychological challenges faced by patients and families, emphasising the need for compassionate, integrated support.

The programme included discussions on prevention, caregiver wellbeing, and the role of institutions and communities in strengthening public understanding of cancer. Participants actively engaged with the themes, underscoring the growing need for awareness initiatives that go beyond fear-based messaging and focus on clarity, responsibility, and care.

This World Cancer Day programme marked an important step in CanCare India Foundation’s ongoing efforts to build cancer literacy, encourage early action, and support individuals and families through responsible public engagement.
