OUR FRAMEWORK
Conceptualising Health, Disease, and Prevention

CanCare India Foundation approaches cancer and health as part of an evolving scientific and social discourse rather than a fixed or closed body of knowledge. We recognise that medical science advances through paradigms, critical inquiry, and periodic paradigm shifts shaped not only by biological evidence, but also by social, cultural, environmental, and historical contexts. How illness is understood, prioritised, and addressed is deeply influenced by the structures within which science operates.
We affirm the indispensable role of modern medicine, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. At the same time, we hold that science remains incomplete when it is detached from broader questions of causation, lived experience, environment, and meaning. Preventive oncology, public health engagement, and systems-level thinking require attention to how modern life, ecological disruption, social organisation, and cultural practices interact with human biology over time.
Our work therefore seeks an honest integration of scientific rigor and reflective inquiry. We engage biomedical knowledge with humility, remain open to emerging evidence, and encourage dialogue that questions assumptions without rejecting science itself. In doing so, we acknowledge that human wellbeing is not solely a clinical outcome, but a condition shaped by balance between body, society, environment, and inner life.
Through this integrated outlook, CanCare India Foundation aspires to contribute to a more reflective, humane, and forward-looking approach to cancer, one that honours both scientific truth and the deeper dimensions of life and health.
Our Vision
A society that understands health and disease within the wider ecology of life and wellbeing, where awareness, prevention, knowledge, and collective responsibility guide how illness is understood, addressed, and lived with, and where responses to cancer emerge from this broader, life-affirming perspective.
Our Mission
To strengthen preventive thinking, public awareness, and early understanding of health and disease, while engaging cancer through education, research-oriented learning, institutional collaboration, and responsible guidance, grounded in scientific integrity and collective wellbeing.
